Happy New Year my Writing Friends!
By welcoming in the new year myself over the weekend, I feel refreshed, renewed, and ready for 2024. The planning, resolutions, and rituals for the new year will bring me happiness and abundance.
However, I get a lot of questions from my friend group about why I do cleansing rituals and resolutions. The simple answer is - because of the "new year, new me" attitude.
So, how do I do it? How can you create your own?
Another simple answer - what do YOU want out of 2024?
My mindset with bringing in 2024 is cleansing all of the negativity, laziness, and pity of the house and my life by cleaning the house top to bottom, all the laundry in the house, and myself. Everything is clean for the new year, so good luck and fortune can be invited in after the clock strikes midnight.
Now, I don't clean at all on January 1st. I see that as all the luck and abundance the year wants to give me will be wiped clean and I get bad luck instead.
Celebrating the New Year is different for everyone but we all hope that 2024 is very different than 2023.
How did you celebrate? What are your resolutions?
Some people want to go to the gym to get stronger, others plan to get a house, and a few wish to go with the flow of the new year and see what happens.
For me, I know 2024 is going to be difficult for things that are out of my control. So, I wanted to focus on myself and how I can make my life better for my future self. If I work harder this year, 2025 me may thank 2024 me.
I have multiple books to read this year, somewhere in the range of 45-50 books of various genres; only about 16 of those books are a part of different series.
Along with reading all of these books, my novel, Illemy, will be done - at least the first draft and the start of editing it before the end of 2024. On top of Illemy, my other project for how to research and craft a research paper will be available in paperback and Kindle.
Finally, worldbuilding worksheets and a YouTube series about my formula for worldbuilding. It has worked with several different friends in their creative writing class and a couple of my own projects. These worksheets and vlog series will dive into different aspects of worldbuilding from the flora and fauna to government systems to magic systems.
