She's done it again, ya'll. Deadly Little Scandals is the second book in the Debutante series, which follows Sawyer, a mechanic who enters 'high society' through a deal with her grandmother and becomes entangled in more and more scandals.

The Story

Sawyer, our savvy mechanic turned debutante, finds herself neck-deep in a decades-old conspiracy involving the White Glove Society, a secret group with enough skeletons in their closets to start a museum. With her found family of fiercely loyal friends at her side, Sawyer peels back layers of privilege, deception, and betrayal. Every answer leads to more questions, and every truth risks ruining someone’s reputation—or life.
As Sawyer uncovers tangled lies that reach back decades, she confronts not only the sins of the powerful but also the fragile truths of the people she trusts most. Through hidden tunnels, whispered confessions, and social sabotage, loyalty becomes a lifeline.
Rating 5/5
With its short chapters that build suspense effectively, it's an obvious page-turner. It only took me ten days to finish this story. Barnes builds this idea with precision, adding details from the future and the past, twinned with what's happening with the main plot line.
Sawyer's character development, along with her friends', anchors the entire thing. She grows in love and detective work, wanting to find a friend in a pact that ruined some lives or strengthened others.
The exploration of inherited privilege and moral ambiguity adds weight without sacrificing the fun.
If you crave mystery on every page, this book is for you.
